Friends of Nintendo Bundle

Last year Nintendo surprised us with their very own humble bundle but region locked the games to North America. As an affluent Australian I bought it anyway, directing the money to charity, just to support the concept. This year though, no doubt inspired by me, they ensured the bundle was open to Nintendo customers in Europe, South America and Oceania so I was excited to actually be able to play it. I’ve got some quick impressions of most of the games to share and there’s even a download code for one game to give away if you’re too stingy to buy the bundle. I was into the Humble Bundle before it was cool

As a leading trendsetter and self proclaimed hipster, I support independent artists in all fields before they sellout and become mainstream. The indie Humble Bundle is no different. Of course, a true connoisseur of gaming like myself bought the very first bundle which included the sublime World of Goo. I already owned World of Goo but it deserved more of my money. Now Humble Bundle V is out with a star studded lineup including Amnesia: The Dark Descent, the bigger budget version of Penumbra: Overture from the original bundle. In just ten hours they’ve already surpassed the money raised in the original bundle. This increasing popularity has a dark edge though, and I eluded to it the last time I promoted a Humble Bundle on this site.

Humble Bundle #3

Two updates in a row! But I feel it’s important to get on these things. Humble Bundle 3 is out now! And this time it features a game I loved a lot; VVVVVV!

Also featured are And Yet it Moves, Cogs, Crayon Physics and Hammerfight. I can’t comment on the latter two but And Yet it Moves is surreal platforming brilliance while Cogs is an ok puzzler. Apparently VVVVVV includes a level editor this time around – and in any case you’re supporting indie developers and charity! So get over to humblebundle.com and name your price.
