3DS Wall Update

It’s time for another 3DS Wall update.  As usual, games have their score from GameRankings, and all the games are scored together to give a general idea of the quality of the out put from these various publishers and developers.  Scores are rounded up and they must have at least 5 reviews to curtail outliers.  Games with no review score mean that the game has not been released yet or have not attained 5 reviews.

Without further ado, let’s have a look.

  1. Haha Nintendo’s average is beaten by a single published game by NIS America.

But the fucking hell, 90% average for Mario 3D Land. Get the fuck out gaming media. you are not doing your job properly if an N64 upgrade beats a fantastic take on 3D Mario platforming. Go to hell.

    1. I agree Matto, Mario 3D Land could just be the finest game ever made. Too many people rushed through it, wrote a “good” review and called it a day, before moving on to the next game. The whole industry needs an attitude adjustment.

  2. In the future I may just skip the scores altogether. It’s a giant hassle and the quality of some games is rather apparent without the need of a meta-crtitic analysis.

    1. I think talking about the games themselves or the company in general, like you did with the last wall updates, would do wonders. I liked the little quips on the companies.

  3. Great stuff Deg. Yeah reviews are a bit all over the place for 3DS, Cubic Ninja and F1 2011 are much better than 50%. It’s a good “unbiased” way to showcase the games though, even if reviewers themselves have their own agenda.

A lot of those lineups make me cringe, so maybe the pictures are enough.

  4. I vote for ditching the scores.

The Wall of Shame spoke for itself, and it’s already becoming apparant who is putting effort into the 3DS and who isn’t.

  5. Current opinion on line-up:

Nintendo: Looks like third-parties whole “wait until it sells more” back-fired on them massively. Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 has pretty much stolen all sales over EVERYTHING the 3DS has to offer, which is not surprising consider both of them are amazing (and its Mario, Mario is always awesome). Star Fox 64 3D is quite solid (voice acting aside) and would’ve had online play if WE FUCKING GOT GAMES THIRD PARTIES AND YOU DIDN’T TROLL THE 3DS YOU “3DS is doomed” FAGGOTS. Oh but I got twenty free games, or will you be a butt hurt faggot and sell your 3DS because of the price drop and Circle Pad Tumor?

Also Mario 3D Land 100% or GTFO. Also they have the highest rated eShop title with Pushmo. SURPRISE.

UbiSoft: Like usual, flooding the 3DS market with below average crap will hurt sales on games that are, you know, good. Rayman Origins didn’t sell so hot on consoles, and it was quite swell. Hopefully those who like Mario platforming will give Rayman Origins a try on the 3DS… I will do it if it changes up the game (like Sonic Generations).

Honestly, cancelling Assassin’s Creed 3DS for below average crap is pretty telling on Westen Third Party Developers on Nintendo systems (this might change if Nintendo picks Steam for WiiU, which I PRAY for.)

THQ: Cancelled Saints Row because they couldn’t think of anything. Fuck you too, THQ, you would probably half ass it anyway (though in all honesty, I never played a Saints Row game).

Konami: There average might increase with MGS3D, but I doubt it considering Konami decided to be retarded and delay the game after RE: Revelations AND the Mario sandwich. As a whole, the company I loved in the 80s and 90s is pretty much the Metroidvania/MGS company. And you complain Nintendo makes Zelda and Mario over and over again. Morons.

On the other hand, I hope they collaborate with Wayforward again on another Contra. Hard Corps was good, but not as good as Contra 4. Wayforward or GTFO.

Capcom: Capcom had lost all respect for me. I don’t care if Revelations is good, their trolling of the MML3 development was the WORST THING they could’ve done. Considering the fact they won’t make Darkstalkers 4 because of it not being Street Fighter pretty much tells you why Platinum and Keiji Inafune left the company. Capcom of the 90s is dead folks, no turning back.

Though do stay alive because I do want that Nintendo vs. Capcom game Ono wants, then you can fuck off and go bankrupt.

Aksys Games: I really enjoyed Bit Trip 3D and the upcoming Black and White game looks wonderful. Hopefully they bring over the 999 follow-up, because that was the most amazing DS game ever.

    MORE SOON.

  6. Just letting you all know Tekken 3D Prime Edition is a disaster. And the demo of MGS 3D left a horrible taste in my mouth.

I’m so happy to see third parties are still on the trainwreck to failure on Nintendo systems. GOOD LUCK SELLING YOUR SHIT ON A HANDHELD THAT WON’T SELL OUTSIDE OF JAPAN MORONS (PS Vita).

    1. For fuck’s sake, these Metal Garbage Shute 3D controls are a mess.

Regarding camera/aiming, I understand that it’s a dual-analog scheme crammed into a limited 3DS – a device not meant to recreate the shitty FPS market for a handheld audience. Normally, the digital-input (buttons) camera is fine in a third-person movement situation, like Crytal Bearers, but using it for the damn gun – this demo shows they didn’t have the decency to find a real solution. On top of that, all your context actions have been shoved to the dpad, requiring complete stops.

Then there’s standing/crouching/lying – for the last decade it’s apparently impossible to change positions in single, smooth actions, often requiring you to make complete stops (or roll around by accident). This is evergreen retardation.

This is beyond MH Tri’s lack of Wii Pointer aiming. Fuck this nonsense.

  7. Guess what kids? UbiSoft decided to delay Rayman: Origins until June for the 3DS. Guess they realized its futile to compete with Kid Icarus: Uprising.

    1. Deguello said he’ll revisit it in the future, but real life is butting in for now.

If we don’t get our hopes up and expect it tomorrow the way “fans” expected Nintendo to reveal their 2012-2016 line-up and dominate their E3 conference (aka “not give 3rd Parties a chance”), then we’ll be fine.
